After 10 years in the league and a career year with the Pacers, Darren Collison has suddenly called it quits. Per the Undefeated's Marc Spears, He has announced his retirement from the NBA.
As Woj points out, Collison is leaving millions on the table to retire at age 31. Collison has not given an official reason for his decision. He averaged 12 points per game for his career, playing active roles in Sacramento, Dallas, and (of course) Indiana. An overall successful tenure in the league.
This summer, Collison's path was a mystery. If the Pacers did no re-sign him, he might have found a home with the Lakers, Clippers, or Celtics. He might have had a shot to win multiple NBA Championships.
Nonetheless, the 31-year-old guard has decided to spend time with family over pursuing an unknown basketball career.
