It's not a secret that Rajon Rondo and LeBron James are two of the savviest and smartest players to ever set foot on a basketball hardwood. They have an incredible ability to pick up apart opposing defenses in real-time, improvise, and break down the rivals' sets in the blink of an eye.
That's why it's not very usual to see another player outsmarting Rondo or LeBron, especially when they go against each other.
This time, however, it seems like The King got the best of his former teammate, as he completely fooled him with a ball-fake around his back before sending a great pass to a wide-open Kyle Kuzma for a crucial three-pointer. Maybe it didn't look like it at first glance, but Golden State Warriors' Draymond Green took to an Instagram post to break down what truly happened and how LeBron outsmarted Rondo on that play:
"This play is so great!! Bron outsmarted Rondo. Two smartest players in the game. Rondo knew he should've kept going with Kuz (Kyle Kuzma) but didn't want to break the zone. Bron used it against him," Green commented on the post.
Draymond Green has made a name for himself for being a bit of a basketball savant himself as well. He makes an impact far beyond the stat sheet and his presence has paved the way for the Golden State Warriors to find that much success, even if you couldn't tell by the numbers.
It's nice to have such a connoisseur as Draymond Green breaking down plays for the uneducated eye. It makes you appreciate the greatness of a player who still finds a way to amaze and leave his colleagues in awe after nearly two decades in the Association.
