The Golden State Warriors are enjoying the best time that any NBA team and its supporters can enjoy, the week right after winning the championship. Criticism is almost impossible and they can call out those that doubted the team's ability to get the job done. And this extends to the families of the players as well, many of whom are now well-known thanks to social media.
Someone that has been quite active in these playoffs is Draymond Green's mother, Mary Babers, who hilariously called out her son after some poor performances earlier in the Finals. But now it seems she's firmly back in Dray's and the Warriors' corner, calling Charles Barkley out on Twitter after he said he would eat horsesh**t if the Warriors managed to win the championship this season.
Charles Barkley: “Listen, if the Golden State Warriors beat the Boston Celtics in this finals, best believe I’ll record myself eating a bowl of horses**t… I’m not lying, Kernny. Remind me in a few weeks.”
Mary Babers: "Get to eating my brother."
Barkley is known for making some truly over the top statements, so it's no surprise that he said something like this, considering his ongoing beef with the Warriors. While a lot of what Chuck says is meant in jest, it has the ability to come back and haunt him, as seems to be the case in this scenario.
There is no way that Barkley would actually be able to live up to this, but it's nice to see the families of players having their backs and not being afraid to take a few shots at their critics on social media.
Charles Barkley and all the others that doubted the Warriors have a long summer ahead of them, the team will be able to bask in the glory of their achievements at least until next season starts. And while we may not get to see Barkley actually eat horses**t, his take has seen him end up with some egg on his face.
