Mind games also play in the playoffs and the Los Angeles Lakers big man Dwight Howard is well aware of that. Howard is becoming a villain for the Denver Nuggets and he's embracing that role during the Western Conference Finals. Following Anthony Davis' game-winning 3-pointer, the Lakers were celebrated as a group, but Howard had other plans. He left his teammates to go taunt the Nuggets after a very painful loss.
As the Lakers mobbed Davis on the court after his shot, big man Dwight Howard broke off from the group and decided to taunt the Nuggets as they exited the basketball stage. If you somehow haven’t noticed, Howard is leaning hard into this tough-guy approach.
“Go home!” he yelled over and over while laughing, jumping, pumping his fist and getting closer to the Nuggets’ side of the floor with every second. “Go home!”
Howard has had two very good games against the Nuggets and their big man, Nikola Jokic. Dwight is looking for that first NBA ring and he's doing anything he can to help his Lakers and hurt the Nuggets' chance to even think about returning in this series.
The Lakers are 2-0 now but seeing the things the Nuggets have done this postseason, you should never give up on them. Howard wouldn't like to see this early celebration fire back at him if the Nuggets win this series, just like it happened with Montrezl Harrell of the Clippers.
