As the Team USA roster has dwindled in recent weeks, concern for their success has grown exponentially.
At least 1o top-tier players have dropped from the team, including Damian Lillard, Paul George, Andre Drummond, Zion Williamson, Kyle Lowry, James Harden, Anthony Davis, Kevin Love, Tobias Harris, Eric Gordon, Bradley Beal, and others.
And though there are still some good players remaining, the team is not nearly what it could have been. And when news broke that the roster actually lost to a team of "fringe" NBA players, that point was made all the more clear.
Footage was recently released of the shocking blowout, and the internet has been buzzing ever since. As of right now, this team does not look good and does not look unified.
The heated scrimmage was just one short game, and there is little doubt Team USA would beat them in a multi-game series. Still, the nature of the loss is deeply concerning.
So far, Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, and Donovan Mitchell headline the roster, and it will be up to them to get the team in shape before the competition starts. Judging by the most recent series of events, that will be a tough task.
