There have been a lot of rumors regarding Giannis Antetokounmpo's future with the Milwaukee Bucks organization lately. Some people affirm that he's never going to bail on the Bucks, while others believe that his time with the franchise is done.
Giannis had recently unfollowed the Bucks and his teammates on social media and fueled a lot of controversies but he did say that he wasn't going to shy away from the challenge of winning a ring in Milwaukee.
So, for what it's worth, it seems like Giannis has already made up his mind, as he hinted at coming back with the Bucks for next season, whenever that may be:
"Thank you Milwaukee for all the love and support you showed my teammates and I this season. You guys are the best fans in the league. I can’t wait for next season!" Giannis tweeted in the middle of Game 7 vs. the Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets.
Giannis is eligible to sign the largest contract extension in NBA history or opt to become a free agent in 2021. Some people thought he was going to force his way out of the team and that the Bucks should at least entertain the idea of letting him go.
However, he had a 3-hour long lunch with the team's executives, who made it clear that they plan to spend into the luxury tax to surround him by a Championship-caliber team.
Giannis is just 25 years old and already an MVP and Defensive Player of the Year. The Bucks must do whatever it takes to retain him, even if that means spending a lot of money.
