Giannis Antetokounmpo: “I Should Be MVP Because I Don’t Care, I Just Care About Winning.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo has his own take on being in the middle of trade drama. The Greek Freak recently stated that “If I was Anthony Davis, I would not talk about free agency. I would focus on just playing basketball.”

The 24-year-old phenom may have a point. Since the trade demand, Davis seems not only shaken but shunned by his team and criticized by the whole league. By staying under the radar, Davis could have dealt with the situation like a professional.

Well, not everyone is as meek as Giannis. In his interview with Rachel Nichols, he would address his path to the NBA with different adversities. “It made me who I am now,” the 6’11 forward said, “It gave me my work ethic, my discipline.”

Giannis has had help along the way, stating that his teammates and coach tell him to “shoot the ball”. Additionally, the all-star captain addressed how he and Joel Embiid are learning how to shoot, “It’s a process,” he says.

Since his rookie season, the Greek Freak has transformed into a superstar. Looking back at his rookie self, he says, “He was a kid that worked hard, believed in himself. He didn’t have much. He didn’t have a lot of muscle. He didn’t have a lot of skill, but he gave his heart and soul.”

The young player is adapting to American life and states that he likes reality TV shows like Keeping Up With The Kardashians and eating American food.

All in all, Giannis deserves to ride the high life right now. The youngster was a long-shot coming out of Greece but has since emerged as one of the top players in the league.

The Greek baller has made a strong case for the MVP, although that is not his primary concern. “I should be MVP because - I don’t care, I just care about winning.” he said during the interview, “You just keep winning and playing good basketball and everything will take care of itself.”
