Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas has been living his best life since his retirement in 2012. Lately, though, things have really been turning out well for him.

As he revealed in an Instagram post on Sunday, Arenas revealed an interaction he had with a homeless man as he was buying lottery tickets.

"May 12th I rushed out of the house to play my lotto numbers forgot my money and the car was on (empty). I had a whole $10 in the car. I pulled up to the gas station to get $10 worth so I can head to my hook up gas station and then a struggling man says 'hey sir can you spare some change.' So I said, man I have $10 for some gas and that's it, I have 8 minutes to get to the other gas station and play my numbers before it's too late."

After some questioning, the man tells Arenas to keep the money for gas and his ticket but to 'hook me up' with $20 dollars after the win.

"I said 'are you sure?' and he said 'yes, I know you're gonna win.'"

Well, as you probably already guessed, Arenas ended up winning despite the gas station actually being closed by the time he got there (the owner purchased a ticket in his name). When he finally got back to the man to give him his cut, Arenas said he "jumped up and hugged me for 5 minutes."

If you were having a bad start to your Tuesday morning, hopefully this story is an encouragement to you. Whatever forces were at play here, it resulted in some truly life-changing events.
