The Los Angeles Lakers are going through quite a rough patch lately. They can't seem to stay healthy and everything that could happen to them has happened over the past couple of months.
Now, the reigning champions have slid all the way to the cut-off for the play-in tournament, and set to meet the Golden State Warriors for the 7th seed in the West.
And, with LeBron James set to miss some other games with a high-ankle injury and Anthony Davis struggling with his health as well, it seems like they could use a scoring punch off the bench.
That's why Isaiah Thomas took to Twitter to try and shoot his shot at Rob Pelinka, claiming that he could definitely be helpful for the team.
"Man I could help them Lakers boys during this time!!!!" Thomas tweeted.
Thomas has been trying to get back to the league and advocating and offering his talents on social media for months now.
He got a chance to sign a 10-day contract with the New Orleans Pelicans but they didn't offer him another one.
In his brief stint with the Lakers, he averaged 15.6 points, 1.9 three-pointers, and 5.0 assists per game over 17 contests but it seems like he's far from the difference-maker he was with the Boston Celtics.
Also, the Lakers have Talen Horton-Tucker and Montrezl Harrell as their sources of scoring off the bench, so him joining this team seems like a bit of a long shot.
