The way the Boston Celtics and Isaiah Thomas parted ways was unceremonious at best.
The Celtics traded away Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and Brooklyn's first-round pick to the Cavs in exchange for Kyrie Irving, which isn't so bad on paper. But when you consider everything Thomas did for that franchise while he was in Boston, and things become a lot more clear as to why IT would be a little annoyed at the Celtics.
Not only did Thomas play mere days after the death of his sister for the Celtics in a playoff game, he soldiered on through a majority of the second half of the season with various injuries, not once complaining. After all of that, Boston didn't have any issues shipping him off to Cleveland once they knew they could get Irving.
Well, heading into the 2017-18 NBA season, Thomas is ready for a bit of revenge, and judging by his latest Instagram story, he's chomping at the bit for opening night.
"LOYALTY IS RETURNED."
Well, maybe not in Thomas' case involving Boston, but his loyalty to whatever franchise he's playing for will definitely pay off for him now that he's playing alongside LeBron James and is poised to make a deep run in the playoffs next season.
