The Miami Heat have been one of the surprise teams of the season. With an 18-6 record, and a third-place standing in the East, it's fair to say that the Heat should be considered a serious contender for the Eastern Conference Championship.
Their newly acquired star, Jimmy Butler, is one of the main reasons why.
Averaging 20 points, 7 assists and 6.9 rebounds, the 4x All-Star has stepped up in big ways for his team this year. According to ESPN NBA analyst Jalen Rose, he's actually the second-best player in the conference.
Being so lethal on both ends of the floor, Butler has a rare and highly valued double-sided game. And, since being named an All-Star in 2014, he has always been considered among the best two-guards in the game.
This is, perhaps, the best season of Butler's career, and it's clearly drawing a lot of recognition from the community.
The Heat, meanwhile, continue to shock the world with their exceptional play. Led by Butler, and one of the best young cores in the league, Miami is poised to be a threat for years to come.
It will be interesting to see how far he can take them with several very dangerous obstacles in their way.
