After falling short the past 2 seasons, are the Rockets finally ready to get over the hump?

With Chris Paul and James Harden, the team was unable to overcome the obstacles that got in the way of achieving their goals. Eventually, the relationship between Paul and Harden blew up, and GM Daryl Morey was forced to make a move.

Now, with Westbrook, nobody is sure just how good the Rockets are. Their defense is porous, the dynamic between Russ and Harden can be awkward at times, and the team suffered some questionable losses this season.

But if you ask James Harden, the Rockets are primed for a deep run this season. Here is what he told Sports ON Tap in a sit-down earlier this week.

Not everyone is inclined to agree but, according to Harden, the Rockets will win the NBA Championship.

The season is still young, and the playoffs will be the ultimate test, but the Rockets have certainly backed up Harden's words so far. After their statement victory over the Clippers Wednesday night, Houston is 2nd in the West with an 8-3 record. They are riding a 5-game winning streak.
