Shaquille O’Neal was one of the most dominant players that basketball has ever seen. O’Neal’s athleticism and strength allowed him to dominate on the interior, and he often powered through multiple defenders on his way to the rim. In his prime, there was no real defense for O’Neal. He is also an iconic player, and one of the only superstars in the history of basketball to manage a 3-peat.

Former All-Star Jermaine O’Neal has recently commented on Shaquille O’Neal’s influence on basketball, claiming that he changed the game. The former Pacer referenced Shaquille O’Neal’s agility and size and stated that there were a lot of instances where the league did not know how to officiate him. (53:41)

Shaq, people don’t realise how big Shaq is, bruh, how agile he was, how strong he was. I mean, it was like he was playing with a little tennis ball all the time in his hand, because he was so big.

But he just changed the game, bruh, and many times the league didn’t know how to officiate Shaq. He was that agile, he was.. I don’t know if we’ll ever see a specimen of a player like that ever again.

There is no question that Shaquille O’Neal had a distinctive style of play, and he was the definition of bully-ball. Jermaine O’Neal was a big man during Shaquille O’Neal’s era, and he got to experience firsthand just how dominant the Lakers center could be. Shaquille O’Neal is up there with some of the best players ever, and there is not a single top 10 list that leaves him out. While Shaq is a unique player, he has declared that his comparison in the modern era is Giannis Antetokounmpo. Antetokounmpo has just won a championship, and he is living proof that dominating at the rim like Shaq works just fine in the modern era.
