Jimmy Butler's Problem With The Philadelphia 76ers Are Serious

Jimmy Butler’s move to the Philadelphia 76ers was meant to be the big move that would help the franchise achieve its goal of making the NBA Finals. However, there have been recent reports that there are some worrying internal issues between Butler and 76ers coach Brett Brown.

According to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor, these problems that the four-time All-Star is having are indeed real which is a serious concern for Philadelphia.

ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne and Adrian Wojnarowski reported recently that Jimmy Butler "aggressively challenged" his coach specifically about the role he plays in the offense. One source described the 76ers star’s behavior as “disrespectful towards Brown during a film session in Portland.

Coach Brett Brown has a different opinion on the situation, claiming that Butler’s behavior did not cross the line whatsoever.

It may be true as Brown says he would address the matter if it was indeed accurate but it’s hard to see why the 76ers would want this being public knowledge if there really is a serious problem between the two.

According to rumors, NBA GMs are calling Sixers for Jimmy Butler.

Jimmy Butler acknowledged the alleged conversation with Brown but he also denied it ever going too far.

"I don't think any part of it was confrontational, just a coach to player talk, a player to coach talk," Butler said, per Serena Winters of NBC Sports Philadelphia. "It just happened to be in front of everybody. I think we got away from it great, and we got better as a team."

If these issues are legitimately real then it doesn’t seem to be affecting the team with the Sixers sitting in fourth place on the Eastern Conference Standings. The side has won 18 of the last 26 matches since Butler has arrived, the star guard has been averaging 18 points since the trade between Philadelphia and Minnesota.
