Solidifying his role as the NBA's resident joker, Joel Embiid, along with Philadelphia 76ers teammate Ben Simmons, have taken to Twitter to roast LaVar Ball after his son Lonzo was selected 2nd overall by the Lakers last night.
Immediately after Lonzo was drafted by LA, LaVar Ball was interviewed by ESPN's Jeff Goodman, claiming that the Lakers would now be making the playoffs in 2018 after selecting his son. Embiid and Simmons were less than pleased by his comments.
LA's newest rookie Lonzo was asked about these comments in a post-draft conference call with LA media, in which he responded simply, "That's funny."
It seems LaVar Ball may have made a few enemies for his son even before he has set foot on an NBA court.
