76ers center Joel Embiid is still working to earn respect from the NBA community. As one of the best young players in the game, he doesn't have much winning experience to validate all of his talents.
Still, it hasn't stopped him from being bold with his mouth.
Since Embiid has always been known as a trash talker, it is no surprise to fans to hear when he takes a shot at certain players. In one of his most recent attacks, he went after Anthony Davis, saying that playing FIFA is harder than guarding one of the best bigs in basketball.
Davis would likely retort by pointing to his ring finger, which holds something Embiid has not come close to capturing in his years in the league.
Focusing on the smaller picture, however, Embiid and the Sixers have certainly looked strong this season. As an early MVP candidate, the star big man helped lead Philly to a 14-6 record in the East, and also a 107-106 victory over the Lakers on the 27th.
At least for now, Embiid is playing big enough to let loose with his lips -- but the real talking will be made in the playoffs, a place where the Philly big man has fallen short for years.
