Karl-Anthony Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves have been having a solid enough year, and are currently 9th in the Western Conference with a 15-17 record. They are in a position to make the play-in tournament at the end of the season, and potentially the playoffs if they manage to win.
However, they still need to continue winning during the regular season, and their chances of doing that have been slightly reduced. Karl-Anthony Towns has recently been put into health and safety protocols, and he could potentially miss some games due to that factor.
Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns has entered COVID-19 protocols.
After getting put into the health and safety protocols, Karl-Anthony Towns took to Twitter with a reaction, claiming that he "can't catch a f***ing break". It is clear that he is frustrated with the situation. The pandemic still rages on around us, and it's clear that the NBA has been affected by it as well.
Karl-Anthony Towns has had an extremely negative experience with COVID-19 like the majority of us. He's lost a lot of family members due to the virus, and it's easy to see why he's feeling agitated about his current predicament. It obviously isn't a joking matter.
We all would love to see Karl-Anthony Towns make a quick and full recovery from the virus. We've seen it affect some people's performance before, with Jayson Tatum stating that he needed an inhaler before every game after his bout with the virus.
We'll see how well the Minnesota Timberwolves fare without their superstar center. They already have Anthony Edwards sidelined under protocols, and losing Karl-Anthony Towns is definitely not optimal. Hopefully, we will be able to see the Minnesota Timberwolves win without two of their stars, and maintain their position in the standings instead of going on a downwards slide.
