Anthony Edwards is one of the best young shooting guards in the league. He is widely viewed as the future of the Minnesota Timberwolves, and he is an electric scorer that has elite athleticism. During the 2021-22 playoffs, Anthony Edwards averaged 25.2 PPG, 4.2 RPG, and 3.0 APG, while shooting 40.4% from beyond the arc on 9.5 attempts a game. It is clear that this was a fantastic debut for the Timberwolves star.

After the conclusion of the Minnesota Timberwolves' series against the Memphis Grizzlies, co-star Karl-Anthony Towns lauded Anthony Edwards abilities, claiming that "he's a special player", and adding that he's "excited to see" just how good Anthony Edwards can be.

“He’s really special. What he’s doing at this age, speaks volumes…he’s a special player, very honored and blessed to be able to play with him. I’m excited to see what he becomes.”

There's no doubt that Anthony Edwards has all the tools as well as the drive to become a legitimate superstar. While he's not there yet, the goal is definitely within reach. Anthony Edwards is clearly talented, and previously, Patrick Beverley even compared him to Michael Jordan.

I told him... you got a chance brother, to be Michael Jordan. The kid doesn't indulge in anything negative... just all positivity. His talent level and skill level is crazy, he has a chance to be really, really, really special, really special in this league.

The Minnesota Timberwolves showed that they can be a competitive team even against a No. 2 seed, and they definitely have a bright future. Their core 3 of Anthony Edwards, Karl-Anthony Towns, and D'Angelo Russell is as good as any in the league.

Hopefully, the Minnesota Timberwolves are able to return to the playoffs next season. They have a solid foundation to build from, and Anthony Edwards taking the jump into superstardom would make them legitimate contenders.
