Many paths lie ahead for 3x All-Star Kawhi Leonard. He becomes a free agent in mere days, and while most have narrowed down his options between the Clippers and Raptors, there might be more to it than that.
According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, Kawhi could go to the Clippers to team up with fellow superstar Jimmy Butler.
There are many scenarios seemingly in play, but sources say one, in particular, looks increasingly possible: Butler teaming up with Leonard on the Clippers. There are strong indications that Leonard is interested in having Butler as a running mate, and it's the sort of powerful pairing that would certainly vault the Clippers into contention.
After winning his second Finals MVP this postseason, Leonard has cemented himself as one of the NBA's top players in the league. And, like Butler, his game predicates from dominating both sides of the ball.
The star forward recently declined his $21.3 million player option for the 2019-20 season and now will become an unrestricted free agent. Jimmy Butler will likely opt out as well. Will their paths meet in L.A.?
