Kemba Walker, Donovan Mitchell And Jayson Tatum Lead USA World Cup Camp Roster

After several withdrawals from major stars this summer, Team USA announced its updated roster for training camp before the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup on Thursday. Albeit this roster was expected to be full of stars, now USA Basketball has been forced to call other players to attend this summer camp.

USA Basketball men's national team managing director Jerry Colangelo and head coach Gregg Popovich saw how their initial plans were changed for the upcoming World Cup after plenty of players decided to step down from Team USA’s initial roster.

The Houston Rockets' James Harden and Eric Gordon, Portland Trail Blazers' Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum, Los Angeles Lakers' Anthony Davis, New Orleans Pelicans' Zion Williamson, Washington Wizards' Bradley Beal, Philadelphia 76ers' Tobias Harris, San Antonio Spurs' DeMar DeRozan and Cleveland Cavaliers' Kevin Love withdrew from camp.

Now, the Boston Celtics' Kemba Walker and Jayson Tatum, Utah Jazz's Donovan Mitchell, Los Angeles Lakers' Kyle Kuzma and Toronto Raptors' Kyle Lowry are set to lead the 17-player group who will fight for a spot in the final roster that will represent the country in China at the end of August.

That said, here's a look at the complete squad:

G: Kyle Lowry

Even though the squad won’t look as dangerous as their last two representations, Team USA can still have good participation in the upcoming tournament, who kicks off August 31. They were drawn into Group E with the Czech Republic (game Sept. 1), Turkey (Sept. 3) and Japan (Sept. 5).
