Kendrick Perkins Destroys Kevin Durant After Nets Ultimatum: “This Generation Is Some Goons!”

Kevin Durant

After hearing about Kevin Durant's message to Brooklyn this week, ESPN's Kendrick Perkins took to Twitter to put the 2x Finals MVP on blast.

In his typical style, he called out the Nets star for essentially bullying his team into compliance before calling this current generation of ballers 'goons.'

“So let’s get this straight… KD requests a trade the day after the draft, all the s**t hits the fan, and a month later, he doubles up and calls for the jobs of the GM and the Coach?” Perkins said. “This generation is some goons! Carry on…”

Over two months after their playoff elimination, the situation in Brooklyn continues to de-stabilize. As Kyrie Irving makes peace with his likely return to the franchise, Durant is doubling down on his quest to leave.

Now, there are more questions about the state of the Nets than anything else.

"In a face-to-face meeting with Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai over the weekend, All-NBA star Kevin Durant reiterated his trade request and informed Tsai that he needs to choose between Durant or the pairing of general manager Sean Marks and coach Steve Nash, sources tell The Athletic. "Durant stated he does not have faith in the team’s direction, sources said. Durant and Tsai spoke in London on Saturday, and sources described the discussion as transparent and professional. The Nets have direct knowledge of the reasons behind Durant’s request, sources said, and understand that the 12-time All-Star will continue to be resolute in his stance. Durant is believed to want a change of scenery heading into his 16th season."

So, Durant is still fully committed to joining his fourth team, whatever that team ends up being. At first glance, it's understandable why he'd want out, considering all the drama and chaos that has engulfed his team.

But, clearly, not everyone is a fan of his decision and the way he has handled things with the Nets this summer. Players have more power than ever before, and KD has never been shy about exercising those powers before.
