In a lot of people's minds, the 2019-20 MVP race was over long before the Orlando restart was a thing.

Despite LeBron James' amazing performance, Giannis has put his team in a better position, boasting the league's best overall record.

But, on ESPN's Get Up!, NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins spoke about the MVP award and noted how James should win it, despite having Davis as his teammate.

Perk isn't exactly wrong with his assessment. LeBron has helped elevate Davis' game to the degree where he might be playing the best basketball in his career right now. That should be used to help make Bron's case for MVP, not destroy it.

Of course, having a guy like Davis does make things easier for Bron as well and for as good and deep as the Bucks are, they don't have a guy like David to back up the Greek Freak.

Nevertheless, the MVP race is going to continue to be a hot-button issue until it gets announced later this year. At this point, Giannis seems like the favorite to win, but you never really know until it's all said and done.
