Nobody knows what exactly is on Kevin Durant's mind regarding the future of his basketball career. For some, his heart lies with the Knicks, where his desire to lead the team to a Championship will ultimately see him going there. For others, the dominance of the Warriors is a lure too strong to deny. Still, some believe the lure of Los Angeles and a chance to play with LeBron James is something Kevin Durant likes the idea of.
But with all the rumor and speculation about what might be going on in his head, we appear to have forgotten what Durant might think about it all. Until someone finally had the idea of asking the star to comment on all the rumors floating around about his future.
“I have no clue where that stuff comes from. I just focus on playing ball every single day. I can’t control what people say about me, or what they say about our future and what I should do. I come to work every single day, and life will figure itself out.”
This obviously doesn't tell us much, only that we might be overhyping the status of his availability this coming July.
The money will be an issue, but if the Warriors can figure out a way to keep him, why are we so convinced he'll be signing elsewhere? He has a good a chance at staying than he does at leaving at this point. At the very least, none of us really have a clue what decision he might be leaning towards, if he's even leaning towards any decision at all.
Nothing is guaranteed this summer. Not Durant to the Knicks, not Durant to the Lakers, not Durant staying with the Warriors.
It sucks, but it'll make his decision all the more interesting this coming free-agency.
