The Kevin Durant saga had a major turn of events after reports suggested the Boston Celtics are very serious about acquiring the 2x NBA champion this offseason. After a month since he requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, nobody appeared to be really interested in KD, or at least willing to pay the Nets’ huge asking price.
Well, if there’s a team that can make this move, that’s the Celtics, and it seems like they’re all-in to acquire KD. If he goes to Boston, he’ll create a terrific duo with Jayson Tatum, while Jaylen Brown would join the Nets alongside Marcus Smart and other assets. Recently, JT was asked about this situation, but he didn’t give much information, claiming he was happy with the current roster.
Now, things could be different, as Tatum was spotted having fun with Durant. Twitter account DrGuru_ shared a pic of Tatum and Durant together, taking a picture at a club or something.

Of course, this pic brought a lot of attention, and many fans reacted to it. While some say it’s useless that these two team up since Stephen Curry will beat them, others criticized the picture, saying that Tatum was betraying Jaylen Brown.

These situations will never be easy. Brown already showed his unhappiness with the rumors and the possibility of leaving the Celtics, and this photo won’t make things any better for him. The Tatum-Brown duo was expected to do big things at TD Garden, and after reaching the Finals last season, one would have imagined that they would run it back, but now things could be different.
Adding a young Brown to their ranks could be great for the Nets, while the Celtics could have a bigger chance of winning the championship with KD on the roster. Time will tell how this situation develops, but Durant’s recent moves might have suggested what’s going to happen.
