Kevin Durant On His Future With The Warriors: “Just Watch the Game”

Kevin Durant is one of the best basketball players in the world right now, so it’s not a surprise when you see everybody discussing Durantula’s future and what can he do after the end of this season, when his contract with the Golden State Warriors comes to its end. There have been several rumors and hypothetical scenarios for the 2014 NBA MVP, but for him, that’s not important right now.

He has been asked a lot of times about his free-agency plans, but that doesn’t seem to be a topic of interest for Durant right now.

"Yo, just watch the game. Just focus on the game and stop nitpicking, because it is a beautiful game going on out there," Durant told Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated. "What can I do right now? I can't sign a paper. I got to do the most important thing, and that is play. And that is what we should be focusing on."

Durant just limited himself to tell Spears he was more interested in play than any other thing at this point, stating he hasn’t made his mind on what he’s going to do after this season is ended.

"Let's appreciate what is going on, on the basketball court. I know it's the sexy part of the NBA: free agency, trades, transactions. But it's a beautiful game that we're out here playing. I feel like I play a different and unique way that may inspire some people.

"You never know where you can get [inspiration] from. It's always been my fight with people to focus on the basketball. That other stuff will take care of itself when time comes."

It’s hard to say what Durant is going to do after this season, as there are many factors to have in mind at the time of signing a new contract. For instance, the Warriors will have to deal with the end of Klay Thompson and Draymond Green’s contract, which can lead to different ways for players, the organization and even the rest of the league.

Durant has a lot of places to go, but so far he doesn’t want to discuss any of that. He’s just focused on doing what he does best and that’s playing basketball. It is difficult to wait, but we must do so until the end of the season to know what shirt KD will be wearing the next campaign.
