Nobody is betting on Klay Thompson being anywhere but Golden State this summer. Why would he leave? He is in a good, well-run organization, has won multiple Championships, and is part of a culture that is the envy of the league.
Despite it all, there are rumors that he would leave Golden State under one condition: money. If he were offered anything less then the maximum, he might consider signing with another team that will.
Klay is not the most valuable player on the Warriors. Steph or KD usually get recognized for that honor. But this season, and this postseason especially, the 5x All-Star has proved his worth. As probably the best 3-and-D player in the NBA, there will be plenty of teams lined up to offer him the max.
Because losing Kevin Durant seems likely, there is little chance the Warriors don't do what it takes to keep Klay. Then again, if Durant stays, or the Dubs decide to get a little cheap with their money this summer, Thompson's fate could end up going down a different path.
