Despite missing out on critical free agents this summer, the New York Knicks had high hopes for the season ahead. After a 2-8 start to the season, those hopes have been quickly squandered.
Following Sunday night's blowout loss against the Cavaliers, a disappointed David Fizdale addressed the media.
“I live in that sense of urgency. I don’t need anyone to speak to give me a sense of urgency. I’m not cruising through this thing acting like I’ve got a bunch of time to get a team together,” Fizdale said, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
In the aftermath of defeat, Knicks president Steve Mills called for an impromptu press conference.
Pressure has been mounting on the Knickerbockers after several lackluster seasons. The last time they qualified for the playoffs was in the 2012-13 season. Since then, the team has suffered a host of coaching changes and humiliating losses.
This season is just the latest in a long line of losing campaigns.
We will have to wait and see how it all ends for them.
