Even though former Laker legends Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal had one of the uglier falling outs when they used to be teammates in LA, with Kobe ultimately forcing Shaq out of Los Angeles, that doesn't mean Kobe doesn't have time to help out an old friend almost 15 years later.
Kobe hasn't had a lot to do with basketball since his retirement in 2016, instead opting to pursue other interests, including filmmaking, winning an Oscar for it no less. Bryant has been spotted this offseason though mentoring some of the younger players in the league however, including the Celtics' Jayson Tatum, and one of Shaq's sons could be next in line for the Black Mamba treatment.
According to TMZ Sports, O'Neal's ex-wife, Shaunie O'Neal has said that Kobe has reached out to Shaq about training his son Shaqir, who is 15-years-old.
There has been issues though getting the two in same gym, as whenever Kobe has offered, the O'Neal's have been at the other end of the country.
"Kobe always offers ... we're just so far from each other, but he always offers."
Shaqir is already a skilled basketball player -- how couldn't he be learning from Shaq of all people -- and will be lining up alongside LeBron James Jr. for Crossroads school in Santa Monica, California.
