The Los Angeles Lakers new duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis are ready to take the league by storm. Many are likely to compare the success of this new duo to one of the franchises’ greatest pairings in Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal.
Kobe Bryant recently spoke about his old on-court partner in Shaq and how he could have won a lot more championships and be one of the greatest players the game has ever seen if he was in better shape during his career.
In an interview with Patrick Bet-David at the PHP Agency Convention in Las Vegas, Bryant said Shaq would be the hypothetical better player of the two if he had been committed to staying in shape.
"He'd be the greatest of all time," Bryant said. "He'd be the first to tell you that!"
Bryant went as far as saying the pair would have had won twelve championships in this hypothetical world.
"I wish he was in the gym!" he said. "I would've had 12 f*cking rings!"
"Me and Shaq sit down all the time and I say, 'Dude if your lazy ass was in shape...'" he shared.
The Los Angeles Lakers won a total of three championships during the time that Shaq and Kobe were playing together. Both players are not just Lakers greats but also all-time greats of the NBA.
