Kyrie Irving Is Reportedly 'Invested' In Playing For The Brooklyn Nets: "From What I Can Gather, He And The Nets Are Looking Forward To Meeting Up In Training Camp."

Since first arriving to play in New York City, it has been nothing but chaos and mayhem for Kyrie Irving and the Nets.

Now, just a few years after first signing on to join, Irving's future with the franchise is clouded in uncertainty. With Kevin Durant trying to force a trade, nobody knows how this Nets roster will look by the start of the season.

Regardless, at least one of the Nets' 'big three will be ready to go come training camp.

(via HoopsHype):

"I think Kyrie is invested in being a Brooklyn Net next year. Obviously, there was some turmoil with his contract extension not happening. He realizes his best path going forward to get the contract he wants in Brooklyn or elsewhere is to have a very good season. From what I can gather, it appears that he and the Nets are looking forward to meeting up in training camp."

Of course, Irving doesn't have much choice in the matter anyway. After his mostly absent campaign last season, he's going to have to show he's a reliable performer before any team risks making a deal for him.

But if Irving really is embracing a return to Brooklyn, where does it put Durant? At the very least, it makes him more likely to accept suiting up with the team again.

"Right now, I think the Nets want to run this team back, and they're hoping that Kevin Durant agrees," said WIndhorst. "The way that they are conducting trade talks and the prices that they are asking has teams out there thinking they don't really want to trade Kevin Durant anyway, they want to bring this team back."

On paper, the Nets have a pretty elite team. Durant, Kyrie, Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Joe Harris, and Patty Mills all make up a solid core of competitors. Only time will reveal the ending to this saga, but if the Nets can get Durant on board for one last run, it may just result in a championship.

If not, they can at least say they gave it their best shot.
