Kyrie Irving Takes A Subtle Shot At Ty Lue's Coaching Ability

Publish date:

There's no doubt in anyone's mind that Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens has been one of the best coaches in the league over the past few seasons.

What Stevens has managed to do with several depleted rosters over the years has been nothing short of spectacular, his crowning achievement so far coming within a game of the NBA Finals with two of his best players out injured the entire postseason, and a rookie leading the team.

Obviously, for a player like Kyrie Irving, who hasn't played with the greatest head coaches before his stint in Boston, Stevens must be a refreshing a welcome change.

We don't have to speculate though, as Irving has appeared on The Bill Simmons Podcast to speak about just how good Stevens is as a head coach, and may have thrown some shade Ty Lue's way in the process.

"It's such a relief to have a basketball mind like that...doesn't forget plays, knows when the shift in the game was a breath of fresh air talking to him."

Damn Kyrie, tell us how you really feel.

If we're being honest, Tyronne Lue definitely isn't going to be winning any Coach of the Year awards any time soon, that's for sure, but he can't be that bad of a coach, can he?
