During a conversation with Allen Sliwa of ESPN’s Lakers Talk, Lakers coach Frank Vogel spoke on the impact of backup guard Alex Caruso on the team and his status as their "secret weapon."

“He’s my secret weapon,” Vogel said of Caruso. “I break him out when I need him.”

Averaging 5.5 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.7 assists on 42% shooting, Caruso certainly isn't a name that pops up on the stat sheet. But for the Lakers, his impact cannot be understated.

He's an electric player, playmaker, and team-first guy. The 25-year-old is everything players want in a teammate and a scrappy cog willing to make the most out of every possession. His gritty effort and cult status were actually enough to earn him fourth place among Western Conference guards in All-Star fan voting.

While Caruso may not be the best or most valuable member of his squad, his effort and playstyle is enough to warrant him some serious recognition by not only the fans and his teammates but coach Vogel as well -- who went so far as to name him as their (no so) secret weapon.

Keep on doing what you do, Alex.
