Lakers Rumors: 9 Players Who Will Be Free Agents This Summer

2 Min Read

The Los Angeles Lakers are a championship contender this season and have a fairly stacked roster around their two superstars in LeBron James and Anthony Davis. However, there could be massive upheavals on the roster next season: while LeBron James and Anthony Davis are locked in for the foreseeable future, more than half the roster will hit free agency.

Lakers World Official shared a list of all the future free agents for the Los Angeles Lakers, and some of the players on the list are key for this iteration of the Los Angeles Lakers. NBA franchises can start signing free agents on August 6th, and it is then we will start to see who the Lakers choose to retain, and whom they are okay with letting go to another franchise.

Some of the players who will be free agents will command large deals. Andre Drummond and Dennis Schroder will certainly be paid by one team or another in free agency and could leave for better pastures. Another name whose situation will be interesting is Talen Horton-Tucker. He is a young talent who is clearly in need of development minutes, and perhaps a rebuilding team could try and lure him away with a contract the Lakers won’t want to match. Montrezl Harrell has a player option that he will most certainly decline.

Things could get busy for the Los Angeles Lakers in free agency. While they may be able to retain some of their role players, there are a lot of talented players on the Lakers that could get bigger contracts elsewhere.
