Lakers Rumors: One Staffer Believes Lakers Could Miss Playoffs If LeBron Misses 10 Or More Games

When the Lakers acquired LeBron James in the summertime, they went from lottery bound to playoff bound in a matter of seconds. The King's arrival instantly changed things in Los Angeles.

With that being said, the margin for error is thin. Other than James, the Lakers don't have a whole lot of fire-power otherwise. Which is why when he went down with a groin strain on Christmas day, things got a little trickier for them going forward.

According to one Laker staffer, in a chat with The Athletic, the team is in danger of missing out on the playoffs entirely if LeBron misses 10 or more games this season.

“Earlier this season, one team staffer suggested that it might take nothing more than James missing 10 games with an injury to knock the Lakers out of the playoff picture. The margins in the West are that tight, and the Lakers need LeBron that much.”

James, who turns 34 on Sunday, has been on the court for about 72 percent of the minutes the Lakers have played this season, helping the team score 5.1 more points per 100 possessions when he’s playing.

There's no question that his presence is absolutely vital to what the team has been doing this season. And, however it ends, LeBron will be the one to determine just how far this team goes this season.
