LaVar Ball's dream of having all three of his kids play for the Lakers is still very much in effect. In order to esure its completion, however, a little... detour is needed.
The story all begins with Lonzo, who earned enough attention in college to get drafted by the Lakers back in June. With his ticket into the NBA, LaVar savored at the thought of all three of his boys doing the same. With LiAngelo being the second-oldest, he was, naturally, next in line.
As we all know, though, things quickly spiraled out of control. 'Angelo was caught shoplifting in China, and the consequences were devastating. His reputation faltered, along with his short-lived college career. Evidently, it didn't take long for LaVar to find a solution.
After pulling LiAngelo out of UCLA, the Ball Father indicated he'd look overseas to ready his kids for the NBA landscape.
And, today, it looks like LaVar has his wish. According to Yahoo Sports, both LaMelo and LiAngelo Ball have turn pro, has officially agreed to one-year contracts with Vytautas Prienai in the first-division Lithuanian league. The young Ball boys have essentially agreed to deals with Vytautas that will allow the two prospects to start their journeys in a competitive professional league with a history of producing NBA players.
The team is small and quiant, but there are undobedely worse places to be. LiAngelo and Melo will report to Vytautas in January, where they will begin the process of fulfilling their long-time dream.
It will take time to see exactly how this story plays out, as nobody can predict what will happen next. Either way, it'll be interesting to see if the Ball family can even pull this off at all.
