LaMelo Ball has been lighting up the NBL since he left Chino Hills High School in California. The 6-foot-7 point guard has become an almost guaranteed lottery pick this summer and there are talks that he may go no. 1 in the draft.
But if you know anything about the Ball family, you'll know that their ambition often knows no bounds. And, according to the young basketball phenom, he aspires to be the GOAT.
“15 years from now I want to be the best to ever play the game,” Ball told Christopher Riley of GQ Australia.
He also talked about potentially playing with his brother, Lonzo.
“It’s the NBA so I will play for any team. To play with Lonzo would be real cool. We talked about that growing up so it’ll be a dream come true.”
Obviously, LaMelo has yet to prove himself on the NBA scene, but he's been impressive so far in Australia, where he was averaging 17.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.
While a recent foot injury has put his future into question, there is no doubt that he will, at the very least, get the chance to show what he can do before too long.
Clearly, he's confident that he can succeed on basketball's biggest stage.
