LaVar Ball is voiced his opinion on the Pelicans-Lakers situation with his son Lonzo Ball being in the midst of trade rumors. With the possibility of Lonzo landing in New Orleans, LaVar expressed himself to ESPN on the situation. “I don't want Lonzo in New Orleans,” he said, “Phoenix is the best fit for him. And I am going to speak it into existence."

It’s clear that Lonzo still wants to be a Laker. While addressing the situation, LaVar also said, “We want to be in LA.” Although LaVar and Lonzo may not get their way, landing in Phoenix is more appealing to them. The Pelicans already have two point guards in Jrue Holiday and Elfrid Payton, which would cut into the playing time of Ball. The Suns, however, are scratching for a point guard to play alongside Devin Booker.

With the trade deadline just three days away, talks have heating up between the Lakers and Pelicans. The Phoenix Suns have shown interest in Ball, but nothing is certain with the reluctance of the Pelicans. Lonzo Ball has shown brief flashes of success in his two years with the Lakers, enough to spark the interest of the Suns. Ball is currently averaging 9.9 points along with 5.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists.

The possible linking up of Devin Booker and Lonzo Ball may be enticing to the Suns. The pair could create an effective backcourt with the addition of Lonzo who has shown great court vision as a playmaker along with solid defense. Booker, who is in his 4th year, is among the greatest young players in the NBA. It would be the first sign of hope for the dismal Suns since the departure of Eric Bledsoe.
