The 2020 NBA Draft lottery results are in and we know the Golden State Warriors are entitled to the 2nd overall pick after months of speculations.

The Warriors have reportedly been leaning towards Onyeka Okongwu and Obi Toppin but now that we know they're picking that high, they're likely to test the waters on both James Wiseman and LaMelo Ball. However, the Ball patriarch LaVar Ball doesn't want his younger son to join the Bay area team, as he thinks they're not the best fit for his son's talents, especially considering their depth at both guard spots:

"They got Klay (Thompson) and the other guys and now you want to put Melo in that mix to say you got to follow these guys. Melo ain't no follower," Ball said, as quoted by Bleacher Report.

LaVar is infamous around the league for his bold statements regarding his sons but this time he may have a point. There have been serious concerns about LaMelo's ability to dominate at the NBA level and putting in Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson ahead of him isn't going to help his case.

LaMelo would be better off on a non-contending team where he has enough time and touches to grow through his mistakes. He's got the upside to be a franchise player and prolific scorer but he doesn't seem ready at all right now.

The Golden State Warriors are more interested in acquiring a player that could help them contend for an NBA Championship right away and they don't have enough time to develop that kind of talent. That's why they're also reportedly considering trading away that 2nd overall pick for a bonafide star.

As for LaMelo, he'll get plenty of chances to silence his critics in the NBA, just not under Steve Kerr's tutelage.
