LeBron James Admits That He's Already Thinking Of Ways To Improve The Lakers This Summer

LeBron James

Even with this season's failures still fresh in his mind, LeBron James is already thinking about the future.

During his exit interview on Monday, the 4x Champion spoke candidly about his mindset about the current situation and revealed that he's already thing about how to come back next season stronger than before.

It will be an undoubtedly busy summer for the Purple and Gold. Considering how bad this season was for them, it's reasonable to expect the team to make significant changes and LeBron James will probably have some kind of say in the process.

Of course, the exact degree of LeBron's power within the organization is highly debated. On the court, we know that everything goes through him. When it comes to making roster decisions, however, Rob Pelinka told the media that the buck stops with him.

Rob Pelinka says Kurt Rambis, Joey Buss and Jesse Buss will be assisting him in roster decisions this summer and he will consult LeBron and AD again, but at the end of the day, the decisions are ultimately up to him and he takes accountability for that.

In the end, the task of fixing this Lakers team is going to require input from several different sources as there are so many variables to consider.

Right now, their plan seems to involve Raptors head coach Nick Nurse and a trade involving Malcolm Brogdon and Buddy Hield.

"Among the franchise’s top targets for the position, multiple sources say, is Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse."

"The Indiana Pacers could emerge as a potential suitor for Westbrook, rival executives believe. The Pacers are building around Tyrese Haliburton, but rival teams expect them to be open to trade conversations around Malcolm Brogdon and Buddy Hield this offseason.

At 37-years-old, nobody knows how much longer LeBron James will be an elite NBA player. With 19 seasons of mileage on his body, the clock is ticking for the Lakers to make the most of his talents.

By all accounts, this summer could be one of the most important in the franchise's history. It makes sense that James would be thinking about it so far ahead of schedule.
