LeBron James Calls Out Refs After Fourth-Quarter Collapse Against Spurs

The relationship between NBA players and the league's officials has been, surprisingly, one of the main storylines of the current NBA season.

It seems us fans bear witness to a massive blown call every week, with these mistakes more often than not costing team's games -- the two missed calls at the end of Cleveland vs. Golden State, where it seems as though Kevin Durant fouls LeBron James twice on crucial fourth-quarter drives, as well as the missed out-of-bounds call in the game between Milwaukee and Oklahoma City where Giannis Antetokounmpo clearly stepped out of play on his game-winning drive both spring to mind.

Tensions between players and officials have reached peak levels this season, and players have regularly called out the refs after games to complain about their officiating. But now LeBron has gone in on the refs after a tough loss to San Antonio at home, where James only shot 4 free throws on his way to 33 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists.

There have been some high profile cases of players letting their anger out on the refs this season, including Russell Westbrook and Draymond Green, but nothing on the level of the face of the league actively calling out the game's officials.

LeBron's anger isn't unwarranted either -- the Spurs shot 32 free throws against the Cavs compared to 14 from Cleveland, with James' two trips to the charity stripe a team-high for the Cavaliers. And for a player of LeBron's skillset, who is regularly bullying his way into the paint, four free throw attempts is a bit of a joke.
