Entering his 18th season of a marvelous career, LeBron James keeps getting disrespected for nothing. The player has done a terrific season during all these years but people still find ways to overlook him regardless of how good he plays. Last season James was perceived as "washed" and even though he was named the best player in the league after leading the Lakers to the championship, the King has is still underestimated.
General Managers around the league participated in a recent survey, where they picked the best teams and players entering this season. When the time to pick the most clutch player arrived, Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard won, beating Stephen Curry who landed 2nd. The biggest surprise of the list, though, was that nobody voted for James after all the clutchness demonstrations he's had over his career.
Which player would you want taking a shot with the game on the line?
1. Damian Lillard, Portland – 32%
2. Stephen Curry, Golden State – 25%
3. Kevin Durant, Brooklyn – 18%
4. Luka Doncic, Dallas – 11%
5. Chris Paul, Phoenix – 7%
> Also receiving votes: Devin Booker, Phoenix; Jamal Murray, Denver
> Last year: Stephen Curry – 44%
This is something crazy knowing that LeBron has the most game-winning shots in the postseason, but that doesn't seem to matter for these GMs. Sure, Damian Lillard demonstrated that he didn't get afraid when the ball was hot last season. Still, not giving a single vote to James knowing how clutch he's been in recent years is just crazy. Perhaps this will serve as motivation for him to prove everybody wrong once again.
