LeBron James and Chris Paul are about to face each other in the playoffs for the first time in their careers.

The King and his Los Angeles Lakers clinched a playoffs berth after beating the Golden State Warriors in the play-in tournament. Now they will face one of the best teams in the West during the regular season.

This will mean the first time James and Paul meet in the postseason and the King is very excited to clash with one of his best friends and part of the Banana Boat Crew. After beating the Warriors, LeBron reflected on what's next for the Lakers, saying good things about CP3.

“It’s a beautiful thing our journeys,” the four-time NBA champion said. “We’ve been laying this game at such a high level for a long time. I’ve always rooted for him, for D-Wade, for Melo to succeed. Got an opportunity to play against Melo in the playoffs a few times. I never got an opportunity to play against D-Wade in postseason but we had a great four-year run in Miami.

“So it’s going to be pretty cool just to be on the same floor and competing one of the most fierce competitors that this game has had over his career. Look forward to the matchup.”

During Bron's first stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chris Paul was part of the then New Orleans Hornets and the only way to see each other was in the Finals.

After that, CP3 went to the Clippers and Bron joined the Miami Heat, creating a Big 3 with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Although Bron made it to the Finals in four consecutive years in South Beach, Paul was never able to lead his squad to the biggest series of all.

During James' second stint with the Cavaliers, Paul tried to make it to the Finals and was pretty close to doing so in 2018 but an injury prevented him and James Harden to beat the Golden State Warriors.

Now they are part of different organizations whose paths will be crossed this year. The surprising Phoenix Suns clinched the 2nd seed in the West while the Lakers struggled to get things going and now are the 7th seed in the conference.

This will be a duel between two good friends that dreamed of playing together but now will be facing each other at the big party. The series promises a lot of great basketball between the young Suns and the current NBA champions.

A lot of people consider the Lakers as favorite to win this matchup but as LeBron said, they are in front of a big competitor that won't let them win so easily.
