Last year, LeBron James made a promise to Laker Nation on the night his team got eliminated from the playoffs.
“Believe me! Promise #LakerNation the spell won’t last much longer! I swear! The marathon continues,” he wrote.
One year later, after the team has clinched a playoff berth for the first time since 2013, James reminded the world of the promise he made -- now fulfilled.
The Lakers had a bumpy road in James' first run with the team. Injuries, locker-room drama, and damaged team chemistry led to obstacles that became insurmountable. They missed the playoffs and Bron's eight-season Finals streak came to an end. To many, it was the beginning of the end for LeBron himself.
But, this season, James and the Lakers proved their time is not yet over. With LeBron, Anthony Davis, and a roster full of capable role-players, they are poised for a long playoff run.
