LeBron James is a player that is well known for being dominant on the basketball court, as he is an elite rim finisher and transcendent playmaker. He had a dominant season with the Los Angeles Lakers last year, averaging 30.3 PPG, 8.2 RPG, and 6.2 APG.

Off the court, though, we have frequently seen LeBron James use his platform and social media presence to speak out about social issues and other NBA-related news. It seems as though he decided to do that today.

LeBron James Reacts To Robert Sarver Deciding To Sell the Phoenix Suns And Phoenix Mercury

It was recently announced that Phoenix Suns governor Robert Sarver has decided to sell both the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury, with Sarver claiming that this would be "the best course of action for everyone".

As a man of faith, I believe in atonement and the path to forgiveness. I expected that the commissioner's one-year suspension would provide the time for me to focus, make amends and remove my personal controversy from the teams that I and so many fans love.

But in our current unforgiving climate, it has become painfully clear that that is no longer possible – that whatever good I have done, or could still do, is outweighed by things I have said in the past. For those reasons, I am beginning the process of seeking buyers for the Suns and Mercury.

I do not want to be a distraction to these two teams and the fine people who work so hard to bring the joy and excitement of basketball to fans around the world. I want what's best for these two organizations, the players, the employees, the fans, the community, my fellow owners, the NBA and the WNBA. This is the best course of action for everyone.

LeBron James ended up reacting to the announcement, with the superstar claiming that he's proud to be part of the NBA because the league is "committed to progress". LeBron James notably thought that the league's punishment for Robert Sarver was too light when his one-year suspension was announced.

There is no doubt that Robert Sarver's conduct during his time as the governor of the Phoenix Suns and the Phoenix Mercury was absolutely inappropriate. Hopefully, we don't see a repeat of this situation in the future.

It is definitely good to see LeBron James speak out on this issue as well. It is clear that James is a willing speaker when it comes to expressing his opinion on things of this nature, and we'll likely see him continue to speak his mind going forward.
