As a 15x All-Star, 4x MVP, and 3x NBA Champion, LeBron James has to bow to no one. His resume has earned a unique level of control and attention, even as he prepares to enter his 17th season.

For Anthony Davis, however, The King seems willing to step down from his pedestal. In a conversation with Yahoo! Sports' Chris Haynes, Anthony Davis expressed gratitude towards his new superstar teammate and the humility he's been showing in an offseason of transition.

“I’ve kind of been a focal-point player my whole career, especially in New Orleans. But first off, to have a guy like LeBron, someone of his caliber, go tell management and ownership and the coaches that he wants me to be the focal point is an honor,” Davis told Yahoo Sports. “I know what comes with that, and that’s a lot of heavy lifting. I want to be able to do that. I think I have the capabilities of doing that. And obviously with the team’s support, it’s going to be a lot easier on me. We have a great team.”

Anthony Davis is, perhaps, one of the top-5 best players in the league. His multi-faceted game leaves him with little vulnerabilities on the basketball floor. Unfortunately, he has been unable to achieve any real postseason success so far in his career.

That is likely to change in Los Angeles, where a new group of guys (including LeBron) will be there to support him every step of the way.
