LeBron James Was Visibly Disappointed After Los Angeles Lakers Lost To Minnesota Timberwolves

LeBron James

LeBron James is having a fantastic individual season. The 37-year old is putting up numbers never seen before for any player his age, as LeBron is currently averaging the second-most points in a single season for his career. Considering he is chasing down Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's all-time NBA scoring record, this proficiency will get him to that goal faster.

However, team success is a very different story. The Lakers lost their 40th game of the season against the Minnesota Timberwolves and are the 9th seed in the West right now. Even LeBron couldn't have a big performance, ending the game with 19 points as the Lakers lost by 20.

Sportsmanship is paramount, and LeBron went over to shake hands with Minnesota Timberwolves' sophomore Anthony Edwards, who had a 27-point night. The cameras locked in on the walk towards Edwards, where a very frustrated LeBron goes over to Edwards and daps him up. He also does a handshake with Anthony Davis, but his expressions stayed stone-cold throughout.

It has been a very rough season for the Lakers and it looks like even LeBron may be running out of steam. He has been carrying the team all season long with various issues plaguing the roster. Be it the fit with Russell Westbrook, age, or Anthony Davis' injury.

James is currently averaging 29.5 points a game, third in the league behind Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid and Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo. The dream of being the oldest winner of the scoring title is still alive, but James will have to go back to putting insane numbers to outpace Giannis and Embiid.

The Lakers will most likely make the play-in tournament and face the New Orleans Pelicans in the 9-10 matchup. If they win, they'll get to face the loser of the 7-8 matchup just to get a first-round opponent like the Phoenix Suns. At least the end is in sight.
