LiAngelo Ball Was Very Disappointed That The Lakers Didn't Draft Him

The Ball family have become a very well-known name in the basketball world and on their show, ‘Ball in the family’, the family spoke about 19-year-old and the disappointment about not being drafted. It was unrealistic that LiAngelo would end up being drafted but the Ball family still had hope that the Lakers would pick him up in the draft with LiAngelo’s brother, Lonzo Ball, currently playing there.

The most recent episode of ‘The Ball Family’ explained how the night of the draft went down for the family. LaVar Ball had conveniently scheduled the opener of his JBA league, LiAngelo was in the crowd watching younger brother LaMelo play.

According to LiAngelo, the Lakers were talking to him earlier during that day, therefore he was quite disappointed when both the Lakers and the Suns didn’t take him in the second round.

The Lakers would eventually pick up Svi Mykhailiuk from Kansas with the 47th pick of the Draft, LiAngelo really knew he wasn’t going to be picked up when the Phoenix Suns passed on him with the 59th pick.

It’s a certain bit unknown exactly why the Lakers and other franchises passed on LiAngelo but he believes that it may be somewhat due to his shoplifting arrest in China when playing for UCLA.

"It sucks I didn't get drafted tonight. I guess it was the way I played. I guess. Or the (expletive) I did off the court. At this point, I'm just … I'm good."

LaVar Ball has always been confident about his three sons playing in the NBA and for the Lakers but he may have to settle for just one or two of them to play in the big time now.
