Last Friday Luka Doncic and LeBron James had one of the best duels in the NBA this season, with both players posting triple-doubles, giving the fans a thriller that was decided in overtime in favor of the Lakers over the Mavericks.
After the game, both players praised each other, with Bron calling Doncic a ‘bad motherfu--er’ right after the match for his 31 points, 13 rebounds and 15 assists. On the other hand, LeBron posted 39 points, 12 rebounds, and 16 assists, having a terrific night for his team.
Now Doncic has spoken out about his duel with the King, saying nothing but good words about James, putting him as one of the greatest ballers ever.
“It was amazing [playing against LeBron],” Doncic said. “Dreams come true, playing in the NBA is amazing. For me is something really special.”
Then he was asked if he felt he belonged in the same category LeBron is, but the Slovenian remained humble:
“That’s a long way to go. He’s a top 2 player the whole time so it’s a long way to go where he is.”
Luka is playing his second season in the league and he keeps making great things with the Mavericks. Perhaps at the end of his career, his legend with the Texans will be even higher than Dirk Nowitzki’s, but as he said, we still have to wait and see how his career develops.
