Luka Doncic is currently playing with a new-look Mavericks team with the addition of defensive wing Josh Richardson, and some rookie signings. The Mavericks have been inconsistent throughout the first few games of the season, but still have a solid record at 6-5.
Recently, Luka Doncic recently talked to Mark Followill on the 'Mavs Tipoff' show. The duo made conversation on a variety of subjects, one of which was the new team spirit, as there are people who come and go every year. Luka Doncic commented on the team this year. The segment starts at 13:42.
We have a bunch of new guys, rookies, and the other guys have been in the league for long. It's great. I think they're adjusting to Dallas basketball really good. There’s a lot of work to do yet but I think that so far we're doing great.
Luka is right in the sense that there are new additions to integrate, and building chemistry takes time. Doncic mentions that they adjust to Dallas Mavericks basketball really well: that sounds like a good sign for team chemistry for the future. Tyler Terry could be an intriguing fit with Luka Doncic as he acclimates to the league, as he was an elite shooter in college, and would do well with Doncic's playmaking.
Luka Doncic has some new faces around him, but that hasn't stopped him from putting up his usual numbers. While he has struggled with his 3PT shot, that should even out later in the season as Doncic is a solid shooter. As the team chemistry builds, the Dallas Mavericks should get better.
