Mark Cuban: 'Warriors Dynasty Is Over, NBA Will Benefit From Wild Offseason'

DeMarcus Cousins Says Golden State Warriors Are The Most Hated Team In Sport

The NBA has just gone through a massive offseason where many of the big named stars moved franchises. One of those big named players to make a career-changing move is Kevin Durant who has teamed up with Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets. The question now remains on how will the Golden State Warriors progress forward without their two-time Finals MVP.

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban appeared on Kanell and Bell where he spoke about how “wide open” league is now that the Golden State Warriors aren’t as dominant.

"I think this summer, it really benefitted the NBA," Cuban said. "We went from the Warriors being a dynasty to being wide open. The best way to judge that is our ticket sales. Last year, there were two teams that never played to an empty seat: whatever team LeBron (James) was on or playing, and the Warriors don't play to an empty seat anywhere in the league. Everybody else had to hustle to sell tickets. Now that's different."

Cuban also spoke more in-depth about how most of the contending franchises have a star duo that’s leading the franchise.

"You're going to have two stars on a lot of different teams," Cuban added. "Now the Lakers, Warriors, Clippers, Bucks and Rockets might be a draw. So you're going to have more teams that are able to sell more tickets and that's going to benefit the entire NBA."

The Golden State Warriors have played in the last five NBA Finals series where they won three championships. It’s been an era that the franchise has completed dominated in but it could come to an end. The Warriors will now be without Kevin Durant and they will likely miss Klay Thompson for the majority of the upcoming season due to a knee injury he suffered in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. It now places a lot of the workload and responsibility on two-time MVP, Steph Curry.

Other teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers are leading the early odds for this season’s championship, the two made big moves in the off-season to increase their talent on the court. Compared to the Warriors, both L.A. teams look a lot more dangerous when taking a look at their complete rosters.

The Golden State Warriors can still win another title but it’s going to be very tough with so many teams now in the hunt.
